Minnesota Timberwolves
The Minnesota Timberwolves founded in Minneapolis, Minnesota are one of the American professional basketball teams. The Timberwolves use to compete as a member club of the league’s Western Conference Northwest Division, in the NBA. The team was founded and owned by Glen Taylor in 1989. The Timberwolves play their county matches at Target Center in Minneapolis, Minnesota since 1990. The current head coach is Tom Thibodeau.
Like the majority of the expansion teams, the Timberwolves also struggled hard in their early years, but after the acquirement of Kelvin Garnette in 1995, the team qualified for the eight consecutive playoffs from 1997 to 2004. In spite of losing in the first round in their first seven attempts, the Timberwolves succeeded to won their first division title in 2004 and qualified for the Western Conference Finals. Kelvin Garnette also got the NBA Most Valuable Player Award for that season.
The team has been in reconstruction mode for the past 10 years since missing the playoffs in 2005, and trading Garnett to the Boston Celtics in 2007. Garnett returned back to the Timberwolves in a February 2015 trade.
